Verified cases

The only number here a third party confirmed β€” and it is not revenue

An app builder driven by plain language, whose acquisition was announced by Wix, a Nasdaq-listed company. It is the one case in this set with evidence independent of the founder. πŸ”΄ And that announcement contains no revenue figure. What is confirmed is what someone paid, not what the business earned β€” so this case is grade B and carries no revenue.

In plain words

Describe what you want and it builds a working business app. A large public company announced buying it, so the business plainly exists. What it earned, though, is not in that announcement.

Subscription and credit-based app generation

Pricing is published on the official site (liveness confirmed 2026-08-31). ⚠️ We do not copy the amounts across.

The rows are not scaled to amounts. Tools, fees, and tax differ per person, so we do not draw a share we did not measure β€” put your own numbers in the calculator.

This case does not publish its own tool costs, fees or tax. So we show the order and the items only β€” put your own numbers into the calculator.

AI's part and the person's part

Already had

A founder who had already built and scaled a company before this one. ⚠️ Strip that out and "solo, six months" becomes a completely different story. This is the first line to read when judging reproducibility.

If this is large, the AI is not the reason

What the AI did

Plain-language descriptions become running applications. What a user builds is simultaneously proof the product works and a piece of marketing for it.

the part a tool replaced

What the person did

Product judgement, public building, and designing the loop that makes users show their work. When people display what they built, that display is the advertising β€” a human designed a structure that generates demand without an ad budget.

stories that omit this do not replicate

The three columns are not proportional to contribution β€” we did not measure that. This is a schematic for separating them.

How we verified this

Evidence strengthBΒ· 3 source(s)

Public dashboard or platform figure. May be self-reported

Confirmed (read directly, 2026-08-31) β€” Wix's own press release states the acquisition, the phrasing "initial consideration of approximately $80 million plus additional earn-out payments paid through 2029," the release date of 18 June 2025, and the founder's title as CEO of Base44. The service is live (HTTP 200). πŸ”΄ That release contains no revenue, ARR or user figure at all. So what is independently established here is the price paid, not the revenue earned. Which is why this is B, not A. The grade on this site answers "how was the revenue information verified", and an acquisition price does not answer that question. The ARR the founder published remains a founder statement. ⚠️ Growth figures reported after the acquisition cannot support this case β€” by then Base44 sits inside a public company's distribution, not a solo product. Using them as evidence of what one person achieved shifts the timeline entirely.

What made it work

This case's largest contribution here is the boundary of verification. A listed company can announce something officially, and if that announcement omits revenue, revenue remains unverified. "Famous" and "confirmed" are different axes. And the loop in which user output markets the product is worth copying regardless of scale.

Risks

  • The "one person, six months" framing is the dangerous part. Drop the prior company and the market timing and you will misjudge what the result required.
  • An organisation formed after the acquisition β€” we do not classify this as a solo case.
  • Revenue still rests on founder statements.
  • Large platforms are entering this category directly, which makes the same position hard for an individual to hold.

Does this work in Korea?

We do not recommend reading this as a business to copy. Its reproducibility is the lowest in this set β€” a prior exit, a market position worth acquiring, and an organisation that eventually formed around it all operated together. What does transfer is the loop where the output advertises the product. Make users want to show what they built and demand arrives without ad spend. That works at any size.

7-day action plan

  1. Step 1. Define in one line what a user of your product actually produces

  2. Step 2. List three things that would make that output worth showing to someone else

  3. Step 3. Check whether your product's name survives on the output today

30-day action plan

  1. Step 1. Create exactly one place where output can be shared and count shares for four weeks

  2. Step 2. Check whether shares turn into arrivals; if not, look at output quality before anything else

  3. Step 3. Audit yourself: did you copy the structure rather than the revenue story

Words you may not know

Verification grade
How far we checked this case. A means the revenue was confirmed by someone other than the founder; B means the business exists but the revenue is only the founder's word.
Revenue
Everything that came in. Tools, fees and tax still have to come out before it is what you keep. The two are not the same.
MRR
Money that arrives every month, as opposed to a one-time payment.
Self-reported
A number the person stated about themselves. Nobody else confirmed it, which is why we do not print those numbers.
Replicability
How likely someone else is to get a similar result. The more the founder already knew the field, the harder it is to copy.
